About Deed & Dock
Deed & Dock is an independent guide for people about to buy a house or second home on a Pennsylvania lake. It is operated by WeldonPC.
Why it exists. Buying on a lake adds questions a normal home purchase doesn't raise: who owns the dam, what the lake costs to keep, who tests the water, and which rules apply on the water and to rentals. The answers sit in scattered public records and long legal documents. We gather the public, lake-level records, show the date we checked each one, and explain what to ask.
What we do. We publish dated facts from public sources, plain-English guides with citations, and printable tools. We earn money from the Kit, the dossiers, the Bundle and clearly labeled sponsored listings. The public pages also show one labeled banner ad from AdEngine, the small ad network run by WeldonPC, which sets no cookies (see Privacy).
What we don't do. We don't rate lakes, communities or dams. We don't publish dues, rules or opinions about any named community. We don't list homes or other property. We don't give legal, real-estate, engineering or insurance advice.
Independence. We are not affiliated with any lake, lake association, dam owner or government agency, or with any other 'Lake Pennsylvania' website or merchandise. There is no lake named Lake Pennsylvania. If you came here about the idea of renaming Lake Erie, you are on the wrong site: we cover Pennsylvania's inland lakes.
How we keep it honest. Every fact links to its source and shows the date we checked it. Facts turn amber after a year and are marked out of date after two. Readers can flag anything that looks stale.
