Help
Answers to common questions. This site runs without a help desk, so we can't answer email. Your downloads are always in your library.
- Is this the lake association?
- No. Deed & Dock is an independent guide. We're not affiliated with any lake, association, dam owner or government agency. For community rules, ask the community.
- Can you tell me if this community allows rentals?
- No. Rental rules come from two places: the township or borough, and the community's own documents. Each lake page links the municipal pages we found, with dates. Ask the municipality in writing and read the community's rules. See Short-term rentals: two layers.
- Is the dam safe?
- We can't say, and we don't rate dams. We show the dam's federal record with its dates. Hazard potential describes downstream consequences, not condition. Ask the dam's owner for the latest state inspection report and the emergency action plan status. See Dam records explained.
- How do I get my download again?
- Open your library, enter the email you used to buy, and use the sign-in link we send. You can download again or rebuild a file there.
- How do I get a refund?
- Digital items are delivered instantly, and all sales are final. If delivery fails after three automatic retries over about an hour, you get a credit code for the full amount automatically. If PayPal refunds or reverses a payment, the item is revoked automatically. See Refunds.
- Is this about renaming Lake Erie?
- No. There's no lake named Lake Pennsylvania. This site is about buying homes on Pennsylvania's inland lakes.
- Why does a fact say "over a year ago"?
- Every fact shows when we checked it. After 12 months it turns amber so you know to check the source.
- Why is a dossier paused?
- When our data for a lake is more than two years old, we stop selling its dossier until we refresh it. The free facts stay up with their dates.
- I found a mistake.
- Use "Flag as out of date" next to the fact. If the source itself is wrong, contact the source; its link is next to the fact.
- Do you sell my email?
- No. See Privacy.
- How do I stop the emails?
- Every email has an unsubscribe link that works in one click.
- Can I advertise here?
- Licensed agents, home inspectors, septic inspectors and water labs can buy a flat-fee listing. See Advertising.
